As a student fascinated by cryptocurrency and trading, I often found myself staring at numbers like “$67,000 for 1 Bitcoin” and realizing — those figures didn’t really mean anything to me in everyday terms. The prices were abstract, disconnected from real-world value. I wanted to understand crypto not just as numbers on a screen, but as something I could relate to — like how many cups of coffee, movie tickets, or months of groceries a Bitcoin could actually buy.

That’s what inspired me to build the Crypto Purchasing Power Calculator — a simple yet powerful web app that translates crypto prices into real-world purchasing power. Users can select any cryptocurrency and instantly see what that amount is worth in familiar, everyday items.

The app uses live crypto market data and integrates with APIs for regional cost-of-living data, giving a realistic perspective on value that changes with time and location. It’s an educational and engaging tool that helps students, beginners, and even traders better grasp the human side of digital currency.

Live Demo & Resources: The project includes an interactive demo that updates prices in real time, along with open-source resources for anyone who wants to explore the code, contribute, or expand the idea — making it not just a calculator, but a gateway to understanding the practical value of cryptocurrency in daily life
