Inspiration

We were inspired to bridge the gap in financial literacy among kids, leveraging gamification to teach critical money and investing skills in a fun and engaging way, preparing them for a digital economy.

What it does

Crypto Clicker is a gamified platform where kids use virtual wallets to "invest" in cryptocurrencies, learning concepts like diversification, market trends, and risk management-all in a safe, risk-free environment.

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS and JS for a seamless, interactive frontend and two APIs for real-time crypto market data. By utilizing cookies built into the browser, we were able to load user data even if they disconnect or come back another day to enjoy the experience

Challenges we ran into

Cookies were the hardest to implement, but other than that, it was smooth sailing. Except not having enough sleep and "hallucinating" code that was not there, like the LLMs.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a platform that not only engages kids but also empowers them with essential financial skills. Seeing parents and educators embrace Crypto Cookie Clicker as a valuable learning tool has been deeply rewarding.

What we learned

We learned how to balance gamification with education, translate complex topics for younger audiences, and prioritize user feedback to create a tool that resonates with kids, parents, and educators alike.

What's next for Crypto Clicker

We will expand to include other asset classes beyond crypto, including stocks and bonds, add multiplayer capabilities, integrate with schools, and release in multiple languages to make financial literacy accessible to people around the world.
