Inspiration

Crypto markets operate continuously and can move quickly. That environment makes it easy for investors to abandon a long-term plan because of short-term fear, excitement, panic, or fear of missing out.

Most crypto products focus on charts, predictions, signals, portfolio values, or trade execution. Those tools provide more information, but more information does not automatically create better discipline.

I wanted to build something different.

Crypto Battle Buddy was inspired by one question:

How can technology help a person follow the plan they created while calm instead of reacting emotionally when the market moves?

Crypto Battle Buddy is not a trading platform. It does not execute trades or tell users what they should buy, sell, or hold.

It is a trading-discipline mentor designed to help users prevent emotional, short-term, harmful trading.

Purpose

Crypto Battle Buddy helps users remain anchored to their own predefined strategy.

The platform is designed to show:

  • what the user’s plan called for
  • what action or inaction the user recorded
  • what factual market conditions existed
  • what behavioral pattern the user is creating
  • whether the user is consistently following their own rules

The core principle is:

The mentor does not rescue the user. It makes the truth difficult to ignore.

Crypto Battle Buddy does not prescribe a recovery trade after a mistake. The user remains responsible for deciding whether to follow the existing plan, deliberately revise it, learn from the result, or continue repeating the same behavior.

Our mission is to help crypto investors build lasting discipline by turning planned decisions, executed actions, missed actions, and unresolved choices into clear accountability.

Crypto Battle Buddy is intended to reinforce disciplined behavior through:

Our vision is to create a behavioral operating system for long-term crypto investors.

Instead of encouraging users to trade more often, Crypto Battle Buddy is designed to help them:

  • trade less emotionally
  • make deliberate decisions
  • recognize harmful behavioral patterns
  • remain accountable to their own strategy
  • understand the consequences of action and inaction

What It Does

The user creates threshold-based plans for individual crypto assets.

Crypto Battle Buddy monitors fresh market prices and evaluates those prices against the user’s plan. It can identify when a threshold is:

  • inactive
  • approaching
  • actionable
  • executed
  • recorded as missed

Before an action can be recorded, the user must deliberately ARM the asset and confirm the decision.

The app also includes two visual discipline indicators:

  • Current-temperature circle: represents the user’s current relationship to an active plan and fresh market conditions.
  • Lifetime circle: represents the longer-term pattern created by recorded executed and missed actions.

These indicators represent behavioral consistency, not investment performance.

How I Built It

Crypto Battle Buddy is built with Flutter and Dart.

The application includes:

  • live price integrations for CoinGecko, Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken
  • user-authored threshold plans
  • per-asset ARM state
  • persisted threshold-step state
  • recorded execution and missed-action events
  • current-cycle and lifetime discipline calculations
  • factual report and export infrastructure
  • Android support with additional Flutter platform scaffolding
