Inspiration
The team read a book called the Three Body Problem and decided it was sad that the Trisolaran aliens were stuck in a hostile environment. Plus, the Trisolaran aliens were void of any emotions. Despite the Trisolaran's goal of eradicating humanity and stealing Earth, we decided a nice game that would fix their issues might change their mind. This is that nice game.
What it does
You can plant creepy and cute species, and catch black widows to feed them.
How we built it
We built Cry Baby's Garden with python, the pygame library and MS paint. We also borrowed PVZ's Zen Garden Theme.
Challenges we ran into
We struggled with adding in audio, but it turned out our files were corrupted. In addition, we found it difficult to resolve merge errors in such a short time frame. Instead, it more sense to have one person code a file at a time while other members do other tasks.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our epic sprites made exclusively with MS Paint and a mouse!
What we learned
We learned that we should buy a Ipad. And to spend time before the hackathon deciding on an idea.
What's next for Cry Baby's Garden
We want to add in audio when the user does a specific action
