Inspiration
- As they are designed, current apps for tele-monitoring can become problematic after the patient is hospitalized. This happens because
- Data must be entered from subject phone, that can become problematic after hospitalization and certainly impossible if the subject conditions worsen
- Even if the status of the subject is known to relatives, it would be difficult for them to update the app information accordingly because they cannot access the phone
- Even if relatives can access the phone, due to the limited information that they have it would be hard to fill in a daily questionnaire
- Telemonitoring data of hospitalized patients can be valuable to predict the clinical outcome of healthy individuals in case of COVID-19 infection
What it does
Is an app to collect data about hospitalized people and their clinical outcome. Currently it has the form of a web-app. Those data would allow to:
- Ideally, predict the clinical outcome of healthy individuals in case of COVID-19 infection- Or identify what differentiate the individuals with different outcomes (healed after hospitalization (no ICU), healed after ICU, deceased)
- Give a “health score” against COVID-19 to be used in determining who is safe to go back to the workforce
How I built it
- The app must be usable, by relatives of the patient and/or patients who have recovered.
- The app primarily aims at collecting data of the subject when his conditions changes, thus limiting the burden of entering daily details
