Inspiration

  • As they are designed, current apps for tele-monitoring can become problematic after the patient is hospitalized. This happens because
    • Data must be entered from subject phone, that can become problematic after hospitalization and certainly impossible if the subject conditions worsen
    • Even if the status of the subject is known to relatives, it would be difficult for them to update the app information accordingly because they cannot access the phone
    • Even if relatives can access the phone, due to the limited information that they have it would be hard to fill in a daily questionnaire
  • Telemonitoring data of hospitalized patients can be valuable to predict the clinical outcome of healthy individuals in case of COVID-19 infection

What it does

Is an app to collect data about hospitalized people and their clinical outcome. Currently it has the form of a web-app. Those data would allow to:

  • Ideally, predict the clinical outcome of healthy individuals in case of COVID-19 infection- Or identify what differentiate the individuals with different outcomes (healed after hospitalization (no ICU), healed after ICU, deceased)
  • Give a “health score” against COVID-19 to be used in determining who is safe to go back to the workforce

How I built it

  • The app must be usable, by relatives of the patient and/or patients who have recovered.
  • The app primarily aims at collecting data of the subject when his conditions changes, thus limiting the burden of entering daily details
