Inspiration
- People have more ideas that they can follow; there’s a surplus of creativity that lays unused.
- Innovation builds on innovation; ideas that are spread and scrutinized are more likely to mature than ideas followed in isolation.
- The patenting system of the Industrial Revolution is obsolete; today’s innovative community needs a more flexible and dynamic system of protecting intellectual property, that is more of a tool than a barrier.
What it does
The problem your project solves
“18k registrations but we need more to ensure that all good ideas are collected so that when we provide follow up to the best ideas from all across EU.”
- Creative people from the EU and around the world would like to present their ideas are worried about the protection of their intellectual property.
- The need of a centralised resource is obvious along with the possibility to protect intellectual property.
The solution we bring to the table
CrowdInvent.com is a social media platform dedicated to creative thinking. In this public repository, anyone can share any idea and put it to public scrutiny without the risk of loss of intellectual property. The core features of CrowdInvent are:
- Secured exposure:everything published here is digitally sealed and archived, so precedence can be proven for any patentable work.
- Flexible licensing:everything is published under a license that is fully controlled by the author; none can access the full disclosure of the published work without signing a custom-tailored license agreement.
- Creative networking:publish, browse, follow people and ideas, contribute to debates and challenge questionable content – everything is distilled on the CrowdInvent timeline.
How we built it
What we have have done during the weekend
During this development sprint we aimed and accomplished to design the algorithm of evaluating the relevance of content. The core principles as well as simulations were created during the Hackathon. This will lead to the future implementation of this feature.
The solution’s impact to the crisis
The impact for the crisis would be the following: Create a centralized repository and a collaborative platform for crisis related solutions (innovations, inventions).
The necessities in order to continue the project:
The main necessity is exposure. In order for our project to work, people have to know about it. Endorsement from official institutions and media coverage would be a great help. We see this project as a public service and don’t wish to monetize it by displaying commercial advertising.
We could also use some legal input regarding our licensing system and data protection.
What's next for Crowdinvent
The value of your solution after the crisis
Finish development and user testing, so we can deploy the platform on a global scale.
Natural persons, companies, schools and universities, NGOs, local administrations, governments and other organizations can be connected with regards of common innovative projects.
Step by step, we want to reach and connect every creative mind with the result of making the world a better place, by offering everyone a dedicated and sustainable resource for information dissemination and intellectual rights protection, research and development. Of course, this can also be used as an educational platform.
