Our main motive is to develop an application that would be helpful to people who face crime threats especially in highly crowded places and detect crowd to maintain social distancing during this covid-19 pandemic.
What it does
It helps detect anomalies like a person who tries to perform crime activities or threatening others and it reports to the system. It detects crowd density and guides people to maintain social distancing in highly crowded places. Future crowd density of places can be predicted before. This application is available in multiple regional languages.
How we built it
We used React Native framework for frontend web development and Firebase platform for backend web development. Coding is done using python programming language and Intelligent database(IDB) is used as a database in our application. In addition to that, we used REST application programming interface.
Challenges we ran into
We had only limited knowledge in backend web development and coding was tedious for us.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we have developed an application that would be very helpful for people and defense services. We hope that it will help people follow the guidelines given by the government during this covid-19 pandemic situation.
What we learned
Through this hackathon, we have learned a lot in backend web development and also gained an experience as we are doing the event for the first time.
What's next for CROWD VISION
Crowd simulation has became an important area mainly in entertainment and security applications. In particular, this area has been explored in safety system to evaluate environments in terms of people comfort and security. Real time applications can also be desirable, for instance in order to estimate the crowd behavior in a near future knowing the current crowd state, aiming to anticipate a potential problem and prevent it.
