How we built it

• Mobile Development on Xcode using Swift
• CV code written in Python using Yolo8 pre-trained model

Challenges we ran into

• Firebase was an absolute pain; made login take forever to code and we ended up not implementing Google sign-in
• Very hard to connect Python OpenCV code with Swift application

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Being able to find a successful object detection model and experiment on it using our own datasets

What we learned

• Focus on what's important!! Spent too much time on authentication and not enough on implementing python code in swift

What's next for Crowd Surfer

• More features!
• Friends/Me account: Which friend studies the hardest? Who's spending the most time eating?
• Change open seat program to be entirely based off live view
