💡 Inspiration
As college students, we noticed a lack of centralization of data regarding events around campus. We wanted to build an app that our peers could use to see what's going on around campus. At the same time, we wanted to simplify the messy event management system hobbyist organizers use.
⚙️ What it does
Crowd lets anyone create, view, and register for campus and city-wide events. As organizers launch parties, users can find them resulting in a mutualistic relationship.
🔨 How we built it
Frontend - React Native, Expo
Backend - Express, MongoDB
Other Tools - Google Maps, Stripe, Auth0, AWS
🏃 Challenges we ran into
Time! We uploaded this DevPost with 0 hours of sleep behind us. Handling photo uploads to our database was tricky as well as implementing a QR code scanner.
🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building a cool project in React Native without much experience.
🤓 What we learned
Mobile dev is hard. Improving our React Native skills and learning how an iOS app is built.
