Inspiration
CrossHatch is a space for gamers casual and hardcore alike. CrossHatch is inspired by other media platforms that take advantage of the video game genera. It builds off the idea of connecting gamers like other platforms such as discord.
What it does
CrossHatch helps gamers connect with other gamers. With a specific focus on building strong communities, and creating the opportunity to let gamers to express themselves and they're gaming achievements.
How we built it
To construct the minigame hosted on our site we used Unity. To build the website we used html, node.js, css, ejs, javascript, and docker
Challenges we ran into
Some of us were using Unity for the first time, we were challenged with time management especially since we underestimated the amount of time we would need for debugging and completing he Unity code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to get a product despite, the challenges we faced at all levels, brainstorming, coding, and deployment. We started as a group of strangers as well, but despite all of that we had a good finished product
What we learned
It might have been better to have a more "focused" product, in the sense that we should have focuses and more unique premise instead of spreading our work load over programming lots of smaller but less related features.
What's next for CrossHatch
CrossHatch's next step is getting users. The Ultimate goal of crossHatch is to not only offer community oriented features to users, but be a place for people to advertise and organize video game related events virtual or real. The next step would be to get users and figure out how to keep them enticed to visit our site
