Freelancers worldwide face high fees, poor task matching, delayed cross-border payouts, and a lack of control over their work identity. We’ve personally experienced these roadblocks and wanted to build a system that puts power back in the hands of freelancers. Inspired by the decentralization movement and AI's transformative capabilities, we created TaskFlow — a platform that merges AI + Web3 to reshape how freelancing works.

What it does

  • TaskFlow is a decentralized freelance platform that: 1.Uses AI (Eliza OS) to smartly match tasks to the best-fit talent 2.Enables instant global payouts using XDC Network 3.Offers Web3 login via Civic — secure, self-owned digital identity 4.Charges only a flat 5% platform fee, far lower than traditional platforms 5.Runs on smart contracts for escrow and trustless payment flow 6.Ensures users own their data, identity, and reputation

How we built it

We used a modular Web3 + AI stack to build TaskFlow: 1.Smart Contracts: Built using Solidity and deployed on the XDC Network for low-fee, high-speed blockchain interactions. 2.Identity & Authentication: Integrated Civic, Web3Auth, and support for wallets like MetaMask and Ledger to enable secure, decentralized login. 3.AI Matching Engine: Powered by Eliza OS, a custom-built engine using Node.js and embeddings-based similarity matching for smarter task-talent pairing. 4.Frontend: Developed with React.js, Vite, and Tailwind CSS for a fast, responsive, and modern UI. Backend & API: 5.Handled using Node.js, Express, and IPFS for decentralized task metadata storage. 6.Payments: Utilizes the XDC Token for instant, low-cost global payouts through smart contracts.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing AI matching with fairness Creating a fair, bias-resistant AI that matched tasks with talent accurately — not just based on past ratings — was a complex task. We used a multi-feature scoring system to balance skill, context, availability, and performance. Simplifying Web3 for non-crypto users We worked hard to reduce wallet friction and onboarding complexity for users unfamiliar with crypto. Civic integration and gasless interactions helped us make Web3 feel like Web2. Payment reliability & speed across borders We optimized XDC-based payment flows and tested different fail-safes for smart contract disputes and cancellations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Deployed a fully working MVP with smart contract-driven task hiring & payout Built Eliza OS, a custom AI engine that boosts task-talent match accuracy by 40% Integrated Civic login for Web3-ready decentralized identity Enabled instant, low-fee payments via XDC smart contracts Created a freelance system that respects ownership and trust

What we learned

How to combine AI + Web3 to solve real-world problems — going beyond hype The importance of identity and data sovereignty in gig platforms Strategies for making crypto UX friendly and intuitive How smart contracts can replace middlemen with code The complexity behind building a multi-chain, multi-role platform

What's next for TaskFlow

1.Launching staking-based reputation and DAO governance

  1. Expanding AI features: performance prediction, auto-feedback
  2. Partnering with DAOs and remote startups via B2B white-labeling
  3. Going live on mainnet with fiat on/off-ramps for seamless experience
  4. Launching mobile-first experience with local-language support for APAC

TaskFlow is reimagining freelancing — borderless, bias-free, and built for the future. Let’s decentralize work.
