Inspiration
Inspired by brief from Quin Gable. And then resonating with my own intention of meeting other people while traveling.
What it does
You add your own travel landings to create a path, mapping out where you will visit, where you will stay , for how long, what do you want to do in every place etc. Then let the matching do it's job and match you against other travelers on their paths. If you see a fitting match then just hit the "Cross Paths", hop in a chat and schedule meetups. It is designed to put more weight on potential following path crossings for the matching. It is also not really intended for visual matching, but more for connecting with the other person and for that user can use voice recording to tell their intent for a meeting. There are some gamification elements in the app to keep user busy and make them return to the app. Additionally, to lift the traveler experience to then next level - there is a in-app builders community, to share builds, see builds, ask questions and share tips, and of course - cross more paths.
How we built it
Mainly built by the vibes with Rork.
Challenges we ran into
When deploying to TestFlight, the packages updates took a long time for them to be available, so Revenue Cat SDK could actually work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The app has most of the wanted features, with skipping a few to not overwhelm.
What we learned
More about how to ship mobile app with payments.
What's next for Cross Paths
Build out the app, collaborate with Quin, and cross paths!
