In my previous submission, I gave a breakdown of the inspiration for this project, highlighted the two concept plugins I had developed so far, challenges, accomplishments, etc. Below is an update on the progress made since then.

Preface: Revisiting the Higher Concept

This concept is about the greater idea of Logitech devices interacting with other devices. This would create an inherent value for users to invest in the Logitech ecosystem. It's no longer about the one-to-one relationship between the device and Options+, but the one-to-many relationships devices can have among each other with Options+ being the backbone. Potential and existing customers get increased value through combinations of products. The whole of their setup becomes greater than the sum of its parts.

Ideally, this would be an "Options+" plugin that could read the user’s list of registered devices, their setting options, and current values and create parameter actions for each. Sliders become adjustments, checkboxes and radios are translated as multistate actions, etc. This allows the user to make adjustments mid-task like adjusting a Spotlight size in the middle of a Zoom call without having to open Options+ and navigating to the appropriate settings, or fine tune their pointer speed while manipulating layers and guides in Photoshop. A more enhanced version might enable commands for an MX Brio to automatically adjust Litra lights.

Currently this isn't possible, but perhaps it could be in the future through a collaborative effort. For now, the Z407 and Litra plugins serve more as proof of concept of that possibility.

Changes Made During Phase 2

Litra Plugin Updates

  • Enhanced device reliability: your lights are now significantly more likely to maintain correct mapping across reconnects and system restarts.
  • Consistent action visibility: device and group-specific actions surface more dependably, particularly following edits or naming changes.
  • Operational stability: reduction in control latency and hiccups during high-frequency adjustments and sustained usage.

Z407 Plugin Updates

  • Optimized macOS Bluetooth integration: connection stability and control responsiveness are improved through more robust native Bluetooth handling.
  • Resilient reconnection logic: faster recovery times and more dependable device control following temporary signal loss.
  • Intuitive status feedback: active control states and the "take control" toggle are now more easily discernible at a glance.
  • Streamlined onboarding and reassignment: initial configuration and device remapping flows are smoother and more fault-tolerant.
