Inspiration
Faced with such unprecedented circumstances in which no cross country race of ours is entirely guaranteed, we noticed that some of our teammates were struggling with a lack of motivation to remain on top of their training regimens. We've created this method of logging training information with the hopes that as a team we can combat the barriers of distance we face - given the pandemic - while encouraging a sense of community and camaraderie.
What it does
Our webpage provides a simple space for our teammates to log their training information, providing our coach with one location to observe tangible team progress.
How we built it
We used Replit and HTML language to code our webpage.
Challenges we ran into
One of the challenges we faced was trying to figure out how to input a google sheet into our website where can log in what we did for our long runs on Sunday's. Because we were both beginners, we didn't really know how to code until after the workshops. Another challenge that we ran into was why the numbers weren't showing up on the google sheet.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of making it this far with creating the website and that we finished it.
What we learned
We're walking away from MakeSPP 2020 with improved teamwork skills (especially given that we had to communicate with one another via technological platforms rather than simply in person), and basic knowledge of HTML language.
What's next for Cross Country Running Log
Our hope is that our entire team can utilize this resource, ultimately improving the efficacy and quality of our training as a team.
