We spent half of our lives on a farm and the other half building robots. Came to a hackathon, brainstormed, used our expertise, then we looked up YC RFS S26, and the #1 idea was exactly what we thought, so we decided to make this project with our expertise in both farming and robotics.
CropSCOUT applies pesticides at low doses on specific diseased spots in greenhouse tomato farms, monitors crops for any possible changes, and sends crop data to the farmer's phone.
Our teammate's MacBook completely died during artificial intelligence & machine learning model training, but we were able to use ASUS workstations to continue our work.
We were able to form a team with expertise in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, which is important for our project. We are also happy to come up with an idea that we know a lot about.
We learned a lot about the needs of farmers, worked on MuJoCo simulations, and met cool people
After the hackathon, we will talk to farmers and survey them, open a student club, and get college funding to continue building the robot.
