Inspiration

We were inspired by hearing the speaker on Friday talk about how his company didn't always have the time or resources to get food from farms to food banks. Our collective experiences of not always having fresh fruits and vegetables at school also wanted us to make a difference. We wanted to combine the two problems and try to find a solution.

What it does

Our program connects schools to farms to allow students to pick excess/imperfect food off the fields and use it at their school cafeterias. This reduces food waste on the farm while also saving the school money and allowing them to have more fresh produce.

How we built it

We used video footage that we took around campus and found on the internet, and used iMovie to put it all together.

Challenges we ran into

Not being able to get footage at a farm. Trying to get the whole project done in one day was also pretty difficult, but we are passionate about sustainability and food waste so we got it done.
