Inspiration

Lowering the barrier to entry for those with ideas that will change the world Help individuals develop their ideas to be able to convey them to a larger audience effectively, but struggle to articulate and substantiate them.

What it does

Allows you to refine your ideas through 4 unique AI mentors: the explorer, refiner, expert and critic.

Provides a unique and interactive platform for individuals to strengthen and refine their ideas. Through dynamic text-based conversations with virtual personas, including the explorer, refiner, expert, and critic, users embark on a transformative journey of idea exploration and refinement. The explorer sparks creativity, the refiner dives into details, the expert provides domain-specific insights, and the critic offers constructive feedback. By engaging with these virtual individuals, users emerge with well-crafted, refined ideas that are ready to be confidently communicated to others.

How we built it

Uses API Calls to OpenAIs GPT model, custom prompts to generate the needed responses of our 4 different mentors, and an intuitive frontend design.

Challenges we ran into

Working in too many directions at once. We wanted to go big and found that we underestimated the impact of time. Also writing in Python language.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

API integration, Data persistance between calls, Figma Demo, unique prompts to create different personalities.

Seeing our idea grow and evolve throughout this journey has been incredibly rewarding. We saw firsthand how proper initial idea development, continual reassessment, and idea collaboration can impact the direction and eventual result of a project. We flushed out the frontend design concept with Figma, successfully made calls to the openAI API and ensured data persisted between calls, and designed prompts to mimic mentors with different personalities, finishing with enough time to go over small details and make refinements that made our project feel finished.

What's next for Critivate

Improving the mentors by training them on online resources, books, and real-life figures, more specifically philosophy and critical thinking concepts. Build a live frontend to allow beta testing.
