Inspiration

India sees a large number of cases of accidents and cases of women harassment every year. Every time we read these articles in the news the our first thought is "I could have helped them if I was there". We want to make this possible by making everyone a friendly neighbourhood spiderman.

What it does

It is a mobile application that is aimed towards connecting members of our society together in times of urgent medical and social needs. Users can sign up on the app which will allow them to be notified when people within a 500 meter radius are having a medical emergency and be a tool for others as well in times of need. We have created a minimalistic UI to make it extremely easy to use. This can help users receive first aid prior to the arrival of an ambulance or healthcare professional greatly increasing their chances of survival.

How we built it

The app is made using Flutter and is highly dependent on the google maps API and firebase realtime database.

Challenges we ran into

There were a ton of challenges that we faced during the making of the app from shifting our whole tech stack from react-native to Flutter and build the whole app from scratch in a daywith minimal knowledge of flutter.

Accomplishments that we are proud of

We worked in a group despite the challenges We are in a process of making something that can actually get an change in the society.

What we learned

All of us being first timers in a hackathon learnt that time is of essence in a hackathon and were also learnt a lot about the google tech stack.

What's next for CrisisCall

We plan on adding car crash detection using mobile phone sensors. Future updates will include tie ups with hospitals and ambulances to check for the availability of a given doctor in a hospital and will also incorporate most of the features from already existing healthcare apps difference being that the app will be extremely customisable to your medical needs.
