Our website aims to provide information for long-term, low-risk real estate investment strategies. We complement the traditional real estate investment search by focusing our attention on various long-term development factors. Our goal is to enable informed decision-making on where best to invest in new real estate to avoid a personal real estate crisis in the future. We allow the user to configure the importance of the following four criteria: quick buy-out, long housing lifetime, low environmental risks, and increase in value. In addition, the user can specify a future point in time for which our software algorithmically predicts the environmental risk and relative change in value until then. Our software then displays a ranked list of cities or states for real estate investments which conform best to their selected priorities.

Our modern tech stack includes a front-end based on Svelte and a back-end based on FastAPI. While these technologies turned out to provide relatively intuitive interfaces, we as a team had never worked with them before. This makes us all the more proud to be able to deliver a functional prototype within the short time span of the hackathon.

Given more time, we see countless opportunities to build upon and improve our product. Most importantly, we believe our prediction engine could be finetuned and consider more underlying factors.
