My inspiration was teaching kids about global warming in fun and interesting
ways, and kids nowadays in the ages 5-11 like playing retro style games, which fits my games description
It is a game that teaches what counteracts global warming like solar panels and windmills that adds points to their score. The game also teaches that cars and airplanes are bad to the Earth, which causes lives to decrease or chances to save the world decrease.
we built it in unity and visual studio code C#, we built by adding the things needed like a start screen and elements like pushing the score, timer, and lives to the screen. Along with the player movement.
Some challenges that we had to overcome was getting the buttons to work in the start screen. It was very place sensitive with button only working sometimes and not all the times when pressed. Along with the scoreText not pushing to the screen, so we eventually found a null reference error. Not assigning the prefab to player
What we most proud of is making the play and quit button highlight, when your mouse hovers over it. Along with making a game that will teach kids and a game that kids will enjoy.
What's next for Crisis Earth: The battle against climate, Me, Abishek and Saksham are thinking about making a 3D version of the project with a FPS player instead of just a top down view. along with making 3 collectables like a miniature version of a solar panel and windmill.
