Inspiration
we wanted to create an app to protect the people of NYC from dangerous neighborhoods.
What it does
this android app displays notifications whenever the user is in an area with a high crime rate to warn them
How we built it
we used the xarmin extension from visual studios to create an android app. We pulled information from nyc open data and pulled the felonies and misdemeanors and the averages from each precinct.
Challenges we ran into
XARMIN IS A TERRIBLE PROGRAM TO USE, we were better off using android studios from the start but we wanted to try something new.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We submitted something, it compiles.
What we learned
XARMIN is terrible.
