Inspiration
For a long time the traditional bill splitter apps have always been a double-edged sword providing some convenience on streamlining debts and payments but unable to materialise those transactions - causing users like us to move from one app to another, remember the required fees and so on.
What it does
Crewpto leverages the concept of blockchains to bridge this gap - an easy transaction upon splitting the bill in the simplest way.
How we built it
By using Ripple's developed EVM sidechain, we can incorporate useful smart contracts to achieve such a functionality that wouldn't have been possible otherwise.
Challenges we ran into
Bridging the gap between the evm sidechain and rpl, the deployment of the smart contracts and understanding its relationship with our python flask app were all novel concepts for us to learn.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We got a functional MVP app to work - one that wasn't constrained in its intended functionality.
What we learned
We gained valuable insights into blockchain technology, particularly in integrating smart contracts with EVM sidechains and bridging them with the XRP Ledger. Additionally, we learned how to effectively use Metamask for wallet connectivity and enhance security for peer-to-peer cryptocurrency transactions. Navigating the complexities of deploying smart contracts and linking them to a Flask application taught us practical skills in full-stack blockchain development.
What's next for Crewpto
Next up, we're all about refining the user experience, boosting scalability, and adding more payment options to give users even more freedom. We want to launch our product on the mainnet and conduct real-world testing to fine-tune the app. Our goal is to support a wider range of cryptocurrencies and supercharge the smart contract's capabilities for a seamless experience.
