Inspiration
We were inspired by real estate sites and housing sites on how they present their criteria for eligibility.
What it does
CreditToKey determines whether or not a customer is eligible to buy a home based on their credit score, monthly income, mortgage, loans, and down payment amount. The user first enters their ID and then the requested values. Afterwards, the program shows the user whether or not they are eligible for buying a house. If the user is eligible, then the website shows them different websites they can use to purchase a home. If they are not eligible, then the website provides possible suggestions the user can take in order to improve their chances of buying a home in the future.
How we built it
We first created UI/UX wireframes of this app using Figma. For backend, we used Javascript to calculate the values and determine eligibility. Finally, we used React to code the pages of our website.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge we ran into was figuring out how to parse the values from the csv file into the program.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our design and the efficiency of our team. All 4 of us met today and we quickly figured out what project we wanted to do and how we wanted to do it.
What we learned
We learned about different formulas and equations you can use to calculate values that determine your financial status. We did not realize there were so many steps and numbers involved when buying a home.
What's next for CreditToKey
CreditToKey could possibly become its own app, a calculator for many more financial calculations or a link on home buying sites for buyers to easily redirect, find out if they're eligible, and then decide to go back to the home buying site or not.
