Inspiration

We wanted to build an app that is very easy to use, and educates young and new credit card users about how their spending habits can affect their credit score without ever have to lower their credit score. The users can learn about their spending habits and how their purchase affect their credit score, all with one entry, and one touch. This app will prevent users from lowering their credit score and set them up for future credit success.

What it does

The user will sign up on our website with a few required info, then instantly be able to simply send a text of the amount they spent or plan to spend, and get instant feedback on how that purchase will affect their credit score. Our app also supports authentication to protect users and deploy ways to protect sensitive information.

How we built it

This is a full stack application, built with AngularJS for frontend, NodeJS for backend, MongoDB Atlas and Firebase for database, GitHub for version control, VSCode for code editing, and Twilio APIs for text sending. We used AngularJS to handle user input, store user info in the databases, created backend logic to retrieve and calculate credit score, and used Twilio APIs to send texts.
