Credit Card Matcher

With the dozens of options out there, we created a webapp with the goal of helping young adults find the best credit card for them by matching them to cards based off of credit score and other data.

Inspiration

The world of credit cards can be very intimidating. There is so much information out there and not a good way to sort through it.

What it does

We pioneered a solution to help college students find the perfect credit card for them among a group of some of the highest rated credit cards. Our program prompts the user to answer a few questions about their financials, which then pairs them up to the perfect card for them.

How we built it

We built our app using React and Javascript.

Challenges we ran into

We originally sought to create a full-stack app using React, Python, Flask and SQL which would have used artificial intelligence in order to put weight on each of the user's inputs in order to best curate them to a card. Due to unforseen circumstances and this being our first attempt at a full-stack app, we struggled to implement SQL and connect the back-end to the front-end.

What we learned

We learned plenty about using React to create webapps, while also discovering how much planning and coordination needs to go into full-stack development.

What's next for Credit Card Matcher

We intend to continue development to reach our original goals of implementing machine learning and artificial intelligence through back-end programming.
