Inspiration

Content creators spend hours manually researching YouTube SEO — analyzing competitors, crafting titles, writing descriptions, and finding the right tags. I wanted to automate this entire workflow with AI.

What it does

CreatorSEO CLI takes a video topic (or transcript) and generates a complete SEO package:

• 3 ranked titles optimized for click-through rates
• Full 200-word description with timestamps and CTAs
• 20 ranked tags including long-tail keywords and misspellings
• Competitor keyword gap analysis against top 5 videos
• Batch processing from CSV files
• Export to .txt or .csv

How I built it

• Python with Typer for CLI framework
• Google Gemini API (gemini-3.6-flash) for AI generation
• YouTube Data API v3 for competitor research
• Rich for beautiful terminal output
• dotenv for secure API key management

Challenges

• Rate limiting on free API tiers — implemented retry logic with exponential backoff
• Parsing AI-generated JSON responses — built fallback parsing for malformed output
• Balancing SEO quality with token limits in prompts
