About the Project
Creating content is only half the job. After recording a podcast, interview, or video, creators still have to spend hours turning that one piece of content into a transcript, YouTube description, titles, captions, hashtags, SEO keywords, Shorts ideas, chapters, and more.
That’s the problem we wanted to solve with CreatorPilot.
We built CreatorPilot to turn one video or audio file into an entire content package, so creators can spend less time doing repetitive preparation and more time actually creating.
Inspiration
The idea came from noticing how much repetitive work happens after a creator finishes recording. The content already exists, but turning it into something ready to publish can take hours.
We thought: what if you could just upload the original video and let one tool handle the rest?
That became the core idea behind CreatorPilot.
How It Works
The workflow is simple:
Upload → Transcribe → Understand → Generate → Export
CreatorPilot processes the uploaded media, extracts the audio, generates a transcript, and uses AI to understand the content. It then creates a complete publishing package including:
- YouTube titles and descriptions
- SEO keywords and hashtags
- Video chapters
- Shorts ideas and hooks
- Social media captions
- Searchable transcripts
- SRT subtitles
- Thumbnail concepts
Everything can then be downloaded as a single creator package.
Building It
We built the application with React and Vite on the frontend and Python/FastAPI on the backend. FFmpeg handles media processing, while speech-to-text and LLM APIs power the transcription and content generation.
One of the interesting parts was making the AI output reliable enough for an actual application. Instead of simply displaying whatever the model returns, we structured and validated the responses so the generated content could be displayed consistently across the different sections of the app.
What We Learned
This project taught us that building an AI application isn't just about connecting an API to a button.
We had to think about the entire pipeline — file uploads, media processing, transcription, asynchronous jobs, structured AI responses, validation, error handling, and finally presenting everything in a way that a real creator could actually use.
We also learned how important it is to design around the user's workflow rather than just adding AI features for the sake of having AI.
Challenges
The biggest challenge was getting all the pieces to work together reliably.
A single upload has to go through several stages before the final result is ready. If transcription fails, the AI shouldn't run. If the AI returns an unexpected response, the application still needs to handle it gracefully. Managing these steps while keeping the interface simple was one of the most challenging parts.
We also wanted the UI to feel like a real productivity tool, rather than another flashy "AI demo", so we focused heavily on clarity, organization, and usability.
What's Next
CreatorPilot is our starting point.
We'd like to eventually add automatic short-video creation, deeper platform-specific optimization, publishing directly to social platforms, content performance analytics, and personalized recommendations based on a creator's audience.
Our bigger vision is to make the process feel almost effortless:
Create once. Let CreatorPilot handle the rest.
