Interactive storytelling on YouTube has existed for years, but producing it remains incredibly difficult. Creators must manually design branching storylines, write multiple scripts, manage dozens of interconnected videos, configure end screens, organize playlists, and maintain continuity across every possible viewer choice. While AI tools today can generate titles, thumbnails, or descriptions, none of them automate the complete workflow required to create an interactive YouTube series.
Inspired by graph-based world generation systems, we asked a simple question:
What if creators only had to describe their story once, and AI built the entire interactive YouTube experience?
BranchFlow was created to automate the planning phase of interactive storytelling so creators can focus on creativity instead of repetitive production work.
What it does
BranchFlow is an AI Story Studio for YouTube creators.
A creator simply enters a story idea such as:
"A detective trapped inside an abandoned hospital searching for a missing patient."
Within seconds, BranchFlow transforms that single prompt into a complete interactive YouTube series.
Instead of generating one script, the platform constructs a branching narrative graph containing episodes, decision points, alternate story paths, and multiple endings.
Every branch automatically includes:
- Complete script
- Episode summary
- Scene breakdown
- AI-generated thumbnail prompt
- SEO-optimized title
- Video description
- Suggested hashtags
- Playlist organization
- YouTube End Screen navigation
- Upload dependencies
Creators can visually explore the generated story graph, edit individual branches, regenerate specific story paths, and export the entire publishing structure ready for production.
Rather than planning dozens of interconnected videos manually, creators receive a complete production roadmap in minutes.
How we built it
BranchFlow is built as a graph-based AI production pipeline inspired by procedural content generation.
The workflow consists of several AI modules working together:
- Story Planner converts a single prompt into a structured narrative.
- Branch Generator creates meaningful decision points and alternate storylines.
- Episode Generator expands every branch into individual production-ready episodes.
- Script Generator writes complete scripts while maintaining consistency across all branches.
- Creative Assistant generates thumbnail concepts, titles, descriptions, and SEO metadata.
- Publishing Planner automatically builds playlist structures, upload order, and End Screen navigation between videos.
The result is a navigable production graph where every node represents a complete YouTube episode rather than just another AI-generated paragraph.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was maintaining narrative consistency.
Generating multiple story branches is relatively easy, but ensuring every path remains connected to the same universe, characters, and overall narrative required careful graph-based planning instead of isolated text generation.
Another challenge was designing a creator-friendly visualization. Instead of overwhelming users with long scripts, we needed a graph that clearly showed relationships between episodes while making every branch easy to edit independently.
Finally, automating YouTube navigation required generating valid playlist structures and End Screen connections so creators could publish an actual interactive viewing experience instead of just receiving disconnected scripts.

What we learned
Building BranchFlow taught us that the hardest part of interactive storytelling isn't writing stories—it's organizing them.
Interactive YouTube projects quickly become difficult to manage because every decision creates new production work. By representing stories as connected graphs instead of independent videos, AI can automate planning, organization, and publishing while leaving creative control entirely to the creator.
We also learned that AI becomes significantly more valuable when it orchestrates an entire workflow instead of solving isolated tasks.
What's next for BranchFlow
Our roadmap includes:

- Character consistency across every generated episode.
- Multi-language interactive story generation.

Our long-term vision is to make BranchFlow the operating system for creating interactive content on YouTube, allowing anyone to build immersive branching experiences from a single idea.
