As a creator myself, I experienced firsthand how platforms give creators visibility but not real control or sustainable income. The algorithms dictate our reach. The platforms take the lion’s share. And genuine fan interactions are limited to likes and comments.

I wanted to build something where creators are the masters of their own creations and earnings — without gatekeepers. That’s how CreatorHub was born: a one-stop platform where creators can monetize their content, time, and community on their terms.

  • What it does:

CreatorHub empowers creators to:

Post paid & free content (videos, carousels, short Vibes)

Offer monthly subscriptions to fans

Chat via paid DMs (hourly rate billing + file sharing)

Livestream and earn through live tipping

Sell merchandise via a built-in marketplace

Share Stories (24-hour content) and Trailers to promote their paid content

Be discovered easily through a Search + Discover tab

In short: one platform to create, connect, and get paid.

  • How we built it:

I built CreatorHub as a solo founder using:

Frontend: React (with Tailwind CSS for styling)

Backend: Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Realtime DB)

Payments: Razorpay (India-friendly), integrated for DMs, subs, and tipping

Video hosting: Cloudinary

Deployment: Netlify

Design: Figma for UI/UX prototypes and flow

I kept things modular to quickly test and add monetization tools for creators.

  • Challenges we ran into:

Monetization complexity: Handling multiple payment types (subscriptions, DMs, tips, merch) and ensuring clear creator earnings.

Balancing UX: Making the platform feel clean despite many powerful features.

Building trust: Ensuring creators feel safe and in control, even in a beta version.

Solo development: Juggling backend, frontend, design, marketing, and community as a one-person team.

  • Accomplishments that we're proud of:

Launched a full-stack MVP solo from idea to public product.

Implemented paid DM + file sharing, a feature even top creator tools don’t offer out of the box.

Built creator-first monetization layers (like tips + merch) into the core from Day 1.

Got initial validation through Product Hunt, early creators showing interest, and strong feedback.

  • What we learned:

Creators value control more than features — they want transparency in how they earn.

Monetization is not just a button — it’s about how it feels to create, share, and connect.

The creator economy needs niche-first, monetization-focused platforms, not one-size-fits-all social networks.

What's next for CreatorHub:

  • Creator onboarding campaign to get our first 1,000 creators

  • Mobile app (React Native) for better engagement and push notifications

  • Safety features: reporting, chat moderation, earnings dashboard

  • Advanced analytics for creators (subs, views, income breakdown)

  • Investor conversations to raise pre-seed and grow sustainably
