Inspiration

As a content creator myself, I knew the frustration of translating raw metrics—followers, engagement, revenue—into a compelling resume for MCNs, brands, or investors. Too many creators have incredible data but struggle to frame it professionally, so I set out to build a tool that bridges that gap.

What it does

Creator Resume turns a creator’s core metrics into structured, polished resumes with three tailored versions: brand partnership (focused on audience/ campaign results), MCN job (content consistency/growth), and investor (monetization/scalability). It visualizes key data, lets users customize content, and enables one-click PDF exports + secure shareable links.

How we built it

I started with wireframing the core dashboard and resume preview flow, then built the frontend with React for a responsive, card-based UI (aligned with modern Western design tastes). I integrated Chart.js for data visualization, used Node.js/Express for backend logic, and tapped the OpenAI API to generate natural, professional English resume copy. For exports/sharing, I added PDFKit and Firebase to ensure clean PDFs and secure links.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest hurdle was balancing customization with simplicity—creators needed flexibility but didn’t want a clunky interface. I also had to refine the AI content generation to match industry-specific tones (business-focused for investors, creative for brands) without losing authenticity. PDF formatting consistency across devices was another tough nut to crack.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a tool that’s intuitive for creators of all experience levels, with a responsive design that works seamlessly on mobile (where most creators manage their brands) and desktop. The three resume templates hit the exact pain points for different creator goals, and the AI-generated content feels human—not robotic—while remaining professional.

What we learned

I deepened my understanding of UX design for niche user groups (content creators) and how to align technical functionality with real-world user needs. I also learned the value of iterative testing: early feedback from fellow creators taught me to prioritize simplicity over feature bloat, and refine the tone of AI-generated content to match Western business/creative industry norms.

What's next for this project

Next, I plan to add integration with major creator platforms to auto-pull metrics (no manual input needed), introduce lightweight analytics to track resume performance, and build a simple subscription model for premium templates. I also want to add subtle branding options so creators can align resumes with their personal brand aesthetic.
