Inspiration

AI image and video prompts often become hard to reproduce because model settings, reference requirements, camera choices, and constraints are scattered across different interfaces. We built a focused planning tool that makes those decisions explicit before generation.

What it does

CreateForge UI Lab is a frontend-only workflow playground for preparing model-aware AI image and video briefs. It lets creators:

  • compare 17 public model profiles across AI Image, AI Video, and Reference to Video workflows;
  • configure model-specific mode, aspect ratio, resolution, duration, output, and reference controls;
  • preview local image, video, and audio references without uploading them;
  • add camera, lighting, continuity, and negative constraints;
  • generate a readable creative brief and export a structured JSON request preview;
  • keep a five-item history and switch between light and dark themes.

The lab does not generate media or pretend to call provider APIs. Prompts and reference previews remain in the browser.

How we built it

The public project is a dependency-free static application built with semantic HTML, responsive CSS, and modular JavaScript. A structured catalog drives the model-aware controls. Browser object URLs provide local reference previews, while localStorage keeps the recent history and theme preference.

The project runs on GitHub Pages and includes a lightweight test script that checks the 17-model catalog, required assets, unique model IDs, and the absence of network or API client code in runtime files. The source code is available on GitHub.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was creating one coherent brief format for models with different capabilities without implying that every option works everywhere. We also wanted local reference previews and useful history while keeping private files, prompts, and production integrations out of the repository.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • A functional responsive UI with no framework or build dependency
  • Model-specific controls for nine image models and eight video models
  • Local-only file previews and request planning
  • Downloadable JSON and human-readable brief output
  • A clear safety boundary: no accounts, payments, databases, API keys, or backend code

What we learned

Separating creative planning from generation makes multi-model workflows easier to reason about. A structured brief also makes it clearer which choices belong to the creative idea and which depend on the selected model.

What's next

We plan to improve keyboard accessibility, add side-by-side model comparison, and make exported briefs easier to share and re-import. For real image and video generation, hosted accounts, billing, and private media workflows, creators can use CreateForge AI; the UI Lab remains its open frontend companion.
