Inspiration

When I see Jensen Huang eating fried chicken, I also want to try it—especially at the same place he visited. The same applies to other well-known creators. This kind of information is scattered across the internet, so I wanted to create a place where we can keep track of it.

What it does

Create-Spot has a map-based interface that allows you to discover your favorite creators’ favorite spots and plan your itineraries accordingly. The platform helps you discover new places to explore and organize them for future visits.

How we built it

We used Codex as our main development tool, with GPT-5.6-sol-medium as the primary model. We deployed the platform on Render, used Supabase for the database, and Mapbox to display the map. For the demo video, we also used Codex and GPT-5.6 to create and edit the video using Remotion.

Challenges we ran into

It was relatively easy to take the project from 0% to 70%. However, the final 30%—adjusting the details, improving the user experience, and testing for bugs—was the most difficult part. At this stage, we had to carefully review the product and provide detailed feedback based on our own preferences and judgment.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Create-Spot was an idea that I had been sitting on for a while. I am proud that I finally started working on it seriously and completed the initial version in just two weeks. It feels good to turn the idea into a working product.

What we learned

GPT-5.6 follows instructions very well—much better than previous models. However, I have recently experienced many reconnection messages. I also noticed that when working in the same thread for a long time, the model begins to take longer to respond, consumes more tokens, and becomes less efficient, even after the automatic context-compaction command has run.

What's next for Create-Spot

We will continue improving the platform and integrating more AI into the workflow. In particular, we plan to use AI to curate, clean up, and enrich the content across the website.
