Inspiration

i often struggle with focus when studying from textbooks and notebooks. Many like me, experience fatigue and disengagement with traditional learning materials. We saw an opportunity to leverage AI to enhance the learning experience.

What it does

Shortd converts text into brief video shorts. It adds visual elements to maintain engagement and creates easily consumable learning content. The platform aims to make studying more accessible and effective.

How we built it

We executed a two-week development sprint from concept to product. Our stack includes Fly.io for hosting, Node.js for the backend, Claude AI for content processing, and React Native for the mobile application.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I first tested the platform on resume content, demonstrating its versatility. The tool showed promise in making various types of information more engaging. We developed a potential solution for individuals with focus challenges.

What we learned

Rapid prototyping proved invaluable for quick iterations and insights. We confirmed the importance of early user testing in guiding product development. The project highlighted the potential of AI in educational technology.

What's next for Shortd

We plan to optimize Shortd for users with attention difficulties. Future development will explore applications for ADHD and similar disorders. We'll continue to refine the platform based on user feedback and advancements in AI technology.
