Briefly describe your project in relation to the challenge prompt.

Create is an AI co-designer that creates designs with you in the same design area in real-time. It thinks like an actual designer would, creates designs like an actual designer in real-time, creates different versions of the application you are designing in parallel, and provides new creative ideas, designs, and styles. For professional designers, it is like having a co-designer working along with you, and instead of one designer, two designers collaboratively working on a project in real-time. For beginners, Create is an essential application for designing, as the existing design tools are complex to use and require an understanding of their working before the user can use them professionally. Also, the current design tools do not co-create in real-time with the user. Beginners and new designers often have trouble using the design tools, thinking about new ideas ( the creative block ), time constraints, etc. Create solves all these problems and provides a certain path to designing for all the users, irrespective of their expertise. With the current boom in technology, more designers are needed to design new interactive and creative spaces. Thus, Create comes at a crucial time in technological history, making designing easier and more interactive than ever before.

Describe your main design decisions and how they contribute to your product.

My user research which consisted of informal interviews with 5 users, and based on online research, users have trouble using current designing tools at times due to a variety of reasons like creative block, difficulty navigating the tools ( especially for beginners ), a lot of time is spent on designing, creative saturation at a time, have to create multiple designs, etc. Therefore, I have strategically placed my design designs. Some of them are:

  1. Real-time co-creation layout I designed a co-creation real-time canvas where both the designer and the AI avatar design together simultaneously. This design decision is different from the traditional flow: prompt->wait->design model and therefore, keeps the designing process feel natural and real: like a real human designer designing in real-time with you!

  2. Soft, pastel colors I chose soft pastel colors like lavendars, blues, etc. to reduce visual stress and make the application welcoming. Also, the color combination supports the “supporting you in your design journey” theme of the application.

  3. Cute AI avatar with a chat system The cute AI avatar represents your co-designer and makes the interaction feel human. The avatar is placed near the chat panel and reinforces the idea of collaboratively working. The chat is not just for commands, but is for an ongoing creative conversation.

  4. Sectioned Interface (Tools / Design / Styles) We separated functionality into intuitive tabs so users don’t feel overwhelmed. This mirrors the natural design process (select → place → style) and makes the experience flow logically.

  5. Clean Grids & Visual Structure We used layout grids, spacing systems, and gentle shadows to maintain balance and visual clarity. This ensures that even with AI actively contributing, the user still feels in control and focused.

  6. Notebook-Inspired Aesthetic I used subtle textures and elements (like paper backgrounds, sticky notes, and grid lines) to evoke the feel of a designer’s sketchbook. This reinforces the idea that this is a safe space for exploration, mistakes, and iteration.
