Crayons to Calculators

Inspiration

What inspired us was our collective love of video games and our desire to share what our story has been through video games.

What it does

The project is a short video game that allows you to reminisce about life and the journey that has led you to be the person you are today.

How we built it

With Vlad and Kadin working on coding the bulk of it on while Abdullah worked on the assets we easily and effectively manged the workload and hopefully deliver a great demo.

Challenges we ran into

A few challenges we ran into was the numerous bugs and little mistakes we ended making while trying to be ambitious with what we could accomplish in the limited time. This included but was not limited to spending hours on one line of missed code.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A major accomplishment was the positive mindset and determination we kept throughout the hackathon and while we did have moments that tested our resolve ultimately we created something we are all proud of.

What we learned

We learned a lot about git and the importance of minute details that cost us time and expanded our problem solving skills letting us become better coders and learners.

What's next for Crayons to Calculators

We had planned to add power ups and an endless mode along with making the game easier to get into and more accessible. Building the game and future game into a business would be a dream and possible long term goal.
