Inspiration
We are beginners. Our teammate had a dilemma where he had to choose between eating in or out with his friends and what food he would eat if he chose an option.
What it does
It is a webapp that helps you decide whether to cook or dine out by providing recipes based on cravings and ingredients, or finding nearby restaurants made for your craving, rating, budget, and location
How we built it
We built the app using React for the front end, utilizing Tailwind CSS for stylish and responsive designs. We integrated React Router for seamless navigation between pages. We also used APIs like Google Places and mealDB to fetch restaurant data based on user preferences. Backend done in js.
Challenges we ran into
Many challenges, from not being able to take the attributes of the api to problems with the servers. Eventually, with trial and error, we figured most things out, and much thanks go to the mentors as well.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made a webapp! This is our first hackathon and first time actually working on these tools, languages,, etc. We are proud that we set, planned, and achieved a goal.
What we learned
The software development experience was crucial. We know how it feels now! Other than the technical aspects we learned, we also gained some experience working with others and collaborating efficiently on a project.
