Inspiration

Studying for exams often feels repetitive and unmotivating, especially when done alone. I wanted to create something that captures the energy of competing with friends and applies it to learning. The idea behind Cram Slam is simple: studying becomes more engaging when it feels like a game you can win.

What it does

Cram Slam is a competitive study game where students can turn their notes into interactive challenges. Users upload lecture notes (PDF or text), and AI generates questions from that content. Players can then invite friends or classmates to compete in real-time matches, racing to answer questions correctly and climb the leaderboard.

How we built it

The project was designed and prototyped using Figma Make. I wanted a clean, game like user interface that feels fast and engaging.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was iterating on the user interface. I went through multiple design approaches before landing on one that felt intuitive and fun. I also explored building a backend system, but ran into difficulties getting a fully working implementation.

What we learned

Through this project, I learned how to use different design tools and experimented with AI-driven features. I also gained a better understanding of how challenging it can be to move from a concept and prototype to a fully functional product.

What's next for Cram Slam

The next step is to build a working backend that supports file uploads, AI-generated questions, and real-time multiplayer gameplay. The goal is to turn the prototype into a fully playable product that students can actually use.
