Inspiration
I've noticed that majority of extremely skilled people end up in poverty due to lack of literacy and no means of sharing their items with the outside world. The Craft Store was built to help with this problem.
What it does
It is essentially like any other online stores but with its own perks. It has a completely new feature - volunteering. Sellers are mostly illiterate so they can get someone to do it for them. The artisans can sell and buy products and even negotiate the prices by directly talking to the seller since there are no in-betweens.
How we built it
Since this is a no code project, it was built by using the free part of Glide.
Challenges we ran into
As Glide has a number of limitations for the free version, it was difficult to run certain actions. Also, you have to pay to preview the app so I had to resort to recording a demo video and linking the google drive. It took a lot of logical errors to achieve what was needed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This my first ever hackathon and project building experience and even though it's probably one of the worst, I learned a lot and got to experience a bit of the joy of app building.
What we learned
The thing I learned is when you add something in the middle of a certain action, it will disrupt the code and you will NOT get the output you want. Even though it sounds obvious, it took me a while to get the hang of it.
What's next for Craftsmen Online Store
Even though some features mentioned are not actually present in the app ( like multiple languages), I wish to create a legitimate app with all the features I did and did not mention to actually move forward with this idea. I hope to do it with actual coding to make it more fun.
