Crackify

Inspiration

Applying for internships is stressful and uncertain. Students often submit dozens of applications without knowing whether their resume truly matches the role or how competitive they are. Crackify was inspired by the desire to remove this guesswork—giving applicants clarity, confidence, and actionable feedback before they apply or interview.

What it does

Crackify analyzes a user’s resume alongside a job or internship description to estimate their chances of getting selected. Beyond a match score, it provides personalized advice on how to improve the resume, prepare for interviews, and strengthen weak areas—helping users apply smarter and perform better.

How we built it

We built Crackify using a modern web stack with a Google Cloud powered frontend for speed and performance. The backend leverages AI-driven analysis to compare resumes with job descriptions, extract relevant skills, and generate insights. We integrated structured prompts and scoring logic to ensure results are clear, useful, and student-friendly.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was balancing accuracy with simplicity, turning complex resume-job matching into an easy-to-understand score and advice. We also faced deployment and configuration challenges while setting up the production build and ensuring the app worked seamlessly across environments.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of building an end-to-end product that not only evaluates fit but also helps users improve. Creating meaningful, personalized feedback instead of generic tips was a major win. Successfully deploying the app and seeing it work in real-world scenarios was another highlight.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned how to design AI-powered features with real user value, handle deployment workflows, and iterate quickly based on feedback. We also gained insight into how small UX decisions can significantly impact user confidence and trust.

What's next for Crackify

Next, we plan to improve scoring accuracy with more data, add role-specific interview prep, and introduce progress tracking so users can see how their chances improve over time. We also aim to expand Crackify beyond internships to full-time roles and different industries.
