Inspiration

I've always struggled to keep a comprehensive view of my US stock portfolio, especially when considering dividends. Tracking everything manually across multiple accounts was tedious and often left me feeling disconnected from my investments. This project, [Project Name - You'll need to insert a name here!] was born out of that frustration – a desire for a single, powerful tool to manage my finances and stay motivated towards my investment goals.

What it does

  • Manual Entry & Account Linking: Users can manually input stock holdings and dividend information, or connect to supported brokerage accounts (future implementation).
  • Dividend Tracking & Goal Setting: A core feature is the ability to set dividend income goals and visualize progress. We're aiming to provide clear and motivating feedback.
  • Multi-Account Management: The app supports managing multiple brokerage accounts in one place, giving users a complete picture of their assets.
  • Tiered Pricing Model: Certain features, like advanced analytics and account linking, will require a subscription to ensure ongoing development and support.

How we built it

  • Flutter: The primary framework for building the UI and application logic.
  • Dart: The programming language used with Flutter.
  • PostgreSQL: Used as the database.
  • [API Integration - If applicable]: Planning to develop APIs for dividend information, and financial data.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully developed a beautiful and responsive application for both iOS and Android using Flutter.
  • Implemented a dividend goal-setting feature to motivate users.
  • Built a system for managing multiple accounts in a single location.

What's next for Crabgrass-stocks

  • The goal is to enable integration with a wide range of brokerage accounts.
  • We're also exploring connecting to bank accounts to enable broader asset management and analysis.
  • Future plans include adding more advanced analytical features and tools to support user investment decisions.
