Inspiration

CowsGoMoo was inspired by how severe cow emissions were a to air pollution and long term climate change. We discovered that methane produced by livestock (essentially from burping) is a serious environmental issue. This led us to explore how something often overlooked—cow digestion—could actually be part of a larger climate solution.

What it does

CowsGoMoo raises awareness about methane emissions from cattle and promotes a solution: seaweed-based feed that can reduce methane emissions by up to 80%. Our website explains the problem, solution, and impact that can be accessed by farmers for guidelines.

How we built it

We built our project using Wix for the website and Canva for visuals and slides, combining our reaserach from a variety of sources and informational videos from the internet.

Challenges we ran into

We struggled to simplify complex scientific concepts and make our solution realistic and impactful at the beginning.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a research-based project with a clear, realistic, and impactful solution and a website to support this that can also be used by everyone and not just farmers

What we learned

We learned how powerful methane to both the environment and humans when it is compared to another harmful greenhouse gas carbon dioxide and how agriculture, though it impacts humans, can also contributes to climate change. During this project, we developed improvements in our teamwork skills and communication with one another.
