Inspiration
we're roommates who both struggle to get up when our alarms go off in the morning and to drill practice questions for our diabolical midterms. we combined both and our love for cute creatures, retro aesthetics, and certain memes to create cowbell!
What it does
the web app moos at you until you get three question right in a row to turn it off. building a streak and collecting coins from using the web app every day allows you to earn coins to purchase accessories for your virtual cow!
How we built it
the web app is coded with html/css/javascript and uses js event listeners to create an interactive interface.
Challenges we ran into
it was difficult to manage persistent data and states of the cow, streak, and coin balance, as well as to be able to readily test, reset, and modify these states.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
we loooove the visual design of our web app and we're proud of the fact that, with a little shaping (to the salon!), this is an app we might actually use!
What we learned
we learned about how to import and display data, manage persistent data, and update our screen accordingly!
What's next for cowbell
implementing mechanics where users can upload their own questions (csv), and adding more accessories for moothew (our cow)!
