Inspiration
Helping developing countries predict the movement of COVID-19 and assist in the allocation of scarce resources to get in front of the virus curve.
What it does
It allows users to track their movement anonymously and diarise their interactions for potential contact tracing at a later stage. The data derived is used to predict potential outbreaks and backtrace the movements of infected individuals to address the challenges presented by contact tracing. Layering on available resources will allow for proactive recommendations for the distribution of human and physical resources in advance of the predicted outbreaks.
How we built it
Progressive web application built with Angular, on Firebase and integration to Azure DB
Challenges I ran into
The greatest challenge is finding the right contacts to provide the data and contacts who may need different data sets that we may be able to provide. Additionally, marketing the application in order for it to go viral within the affected communities is a challenge.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Building a highly experienced global team and standing up the technology to launch the solution in less than 36 hours after the initial idea has been a huge accomplishment.
What I learned
These sorts of solutions shouldn't only be created in a crisis, we should be thinking about how we deal with these sorts of outbreaks in the future.
What's next for COVIZ-19
Launching the website and helping governments in developing countries tackle this virus because everyone else in the developed world is too busy dealing with their own outbreaks.
