Inspiration

We understand the current problem the world is facing from coronavirus pandemic. We want to solve the problem of what to know and what to do about coronavirus, passing the latest information to Nigerians in the three major languages and showing the nearest test centers. We have observed that the UN Millennium SDG 3 to: Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages. which we have taken as our priority to solve through this innovation challenge.

What it does

Our solution will be running on mobile which will: Check for available Public Washing Handbase/Running water to wash hands in each state in Nigeria. Self-reporting Heat map. Check the nearest Test Centers in each state in Nigeria. Top World News Update in Major Languages. Show World case summary updated multiple times per day using https://covid19api.com/ Prevention Tips, Symptoms, Q&A from World Health Organization. Get fast updates on cure and the nearest location to cure vaccines when it's available. Someone with symptoms will be able to report to the nearest test center from the app.

How we built it

The solution was built on Android technology using Java as the language and Android Studio as the IDE. Google News API was used to get top news across the world. Google Map API to locate test centers.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges are workspaces, unstable internet, and power in Nigeria.

Get the top news and updates from World Health Organisation. To help improve safety, prevent the people and the world from the virus. And also to support the SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) 3 to: Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all of all ages
