Inspiration
The idea occurred to me when a friend told me about her COVID19 diagnosis. She has been in contact with a sick person and she got the virus, and to get diagnosed she had to go to the local hospital. When she arrived she was surprised by how many people without symptoms were there. Her doctor later told her that many of them had come just to ask about the pathology of the disease. If an app that allows to user to get in touch in real-time with a physician existed, the number of people coming to the doctors' office just for general information or without a reasonable chance of having the virus would decrease.
What it does
The user enters his name and selects a physicians' chat room where he can ask questions and also interact with other patients.
How I built it
The app is built using Node, express, and WebSockets.
Challenges I ran into
Managing users.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Creating a platform where doctors and patients can communicate in real-time.
What I learned
What's next for CovidQ&A
