Inspiration
Daughter of a Medical Worker who is treating a 40 person filled hospital, I was appalled and pulled to find a tech solution to help people who are looking for help
What it does
It finds true and curated news , websites, helps announced from different organizations, people and Govt.
How I built it
- Used Wp for front end
- Set up a scrapping function for several key objects on social channels and websites. Grouped them and used human verification of links.
Challenges I ran into
How to find all the places where help is announced
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I used scrapper tools of different kind and understood how to mix different tools with scrapper to use it effectively
What I learned
Scraping is a great way to curate and human in a loop to improve the quality of any data set.
What's next for Covidpedia.club
I am building a research based decision tool for human in the loop part to make the curation more effective.
