We were inspired by Robert Skalko's JavaScript game and wanted to create a COVID-based one to reflect the current times.

What it does

Players will encounter and do battle with strands of COVID. While COVID can only attack, players have three options: use the vaccine to deal damage, wear a mask to reduce the amount of damage they receive or take meds to restore some of their health.

How we built it

We prototyped the game in Figma first before building it with HTML and CSS on the front end and Python on the back end,

Challenges we ran into

None of us had built a game before, so it was really trial and error. Since we didn't have a full-stack developer, we had a lot of trouble connecting the front and back end together. Lastly, one of our team members didn't do anything, so we ended up having to do his part as well.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of building a game that has a nice user interface and looks like something kids and teens would be interested in playing.

What's next for COVIDefense

We're going to be adding more items to the inventory, as well as adding more higher and lower level enemies. That is, the player will not be starting out at Level 107; the only reason we did this is show how the gameplay works.
