Covid19 Live Update Tracker

This application displays the total cases , total recovered , total deaths caused due to covid. It make API calls to get the required data using jquery, and displays it in the table using HTML.

Inspiration

Covid 19 has shaken our world for past 1 year. Still now, we have not seen any decline in the number of cases. Apart from staying safe and precautious from covid , people need to stay at par with the latest graphs in covid. But many people do not no what is happening around them. They are not updated with the numbers and percentages of deaths, recovers and affected people. This fact inspired me to build this application

What it does

This application creates a GET request every time the page is refreshed. After that it fetches the required data from the API and displays it in the table. The application is updated once in 24 hrs. to display the latest numbers.

How I built it

I built it using bootstrap , HTML and Jquery.

Challenges I ran into

The API was not fetching the data and displaying in the table. So I had to make some changes in the code inorder to display it properly.

Accomplishments that I am proud of

I deployed the application in netlify and now, it is available for public use.

What's next for Covid19 Live Update Tracker

As a next step, I wanted to complete the application by incorporating additional details like vaccine information , public forum where people could share their views on covid. I also wanted to include a separate forum where people who already recovered from covid can come together and discuss their post-corona side effects and how to combat them

The next advancement I want to incorporate is to improve the UI of my application.
