Background: The more we learn about COVID, the more we realize that the complications of COVID doesn't stop with respiratory issues. We are understanding that COVID positive patients are at higher risks of complications like such as cardiac issues. See the references for more details on potential cardiac and neurological complications. A method to detect these complications using wearables would be of great benefit in getting these patients early care. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7165109/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7187846/

Solution: I want to create a wearable / ML platform for researchers to investigate how to screen for these complications using wearable technology. Researchers would start a new experiment using this platform and recruit patients for their experiment. Patients would wear their own wearable technology. The wearable technology as well as cell phone sensors would push health metrics to cell phone app which in turn would push it to the cloud. The application would also collect qualitative data from the patient and push that to the cloud. The qualitative component would be particularly useful for flagging an event of interest or having the patient indicating a possible event of interest. I would want to collect the following metrics (all may not apply to each wearable): heart rate, respiratory rate, Sp02, movement metrics, audio data, video data, raw accelerometry data if possible, and raw photoplethysmography (PPG) data if possible. Data should be stored in cloud in format in which ML analysis can occur (will have to discuss vectors that make the most sense).

Wearables To Be Incorporated: Apple Watch, Fitbit, Oura Ring (if possible), and a Samsung Watch (exact model tbd).
