Covid Tracker

Local small businesses have been impacted the most during this pandemic. Covid Tracker allows business owners and their consumers to track their exposure to Covid to minimize the spread of this virus.

Inspiration

Help local small businesses to keep their business open, while also making their consumers comfortable to shop or dine with them.

What it does

Allows business owners to register with the app Customers to check in and check out of the building Notify users if they have been exposed during their visit to the store or restaurant.

How we built it

The front end was built with HTML and CSS. The backend was build with Python and using the Django framework for the backend. It is also integrated with SMS text

Challenges we ran into

We had trouble setting up the SMS script. My teammate is my cousin in India, so the time difference posed a challenge

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud we were able to team up in spite of the challenges and built in a short period of time.

What we learned

We have become more proficient in front end and this will be a good reference as we continue to make the app better

What's next for Covid Tracker

We are going to convert this as an IOS app and integrate QR codes and make it available on the app store for our local businesses
